SMART core team meets to synchronize the systems.

The SMART data model (v1) for functional divisions, UWICER and Bhutan Tiger Center has been developed and underwent a trial running since July, 2022. Issues pertaining to model parameter and technical glitches needed to be fixed at the soonest possible as SMART will be implemented for all forestry activities of the DoFPS.  In order to do that, Department SMART core team conducted a week-long meeting/workshop in Bumthang.

During the meeting/workshop, following urgent requirements were rectified:

  1. Channels for accessing forestry services such as G2C, OFS (recently), manual application based and special order are synchronized. The SMART shall be the data collection platform and FIRMS, the national data repository point.
  2. The software version 7 has already been released, and the present SMART data models are synchronized with software version 6.3 which need to be updated to work with the most recent version of the program before it is distributed to the Field Offices.
  3. Both Functional Divisions and Field Offices SMART data models were reviewed and finalized by the National SMART core team upon field testing.
  4. The national SMART data model was developed based on the FNCRR 2017 and amended in 2020.  It is now revised to be accommodative of FNCRR amended 2021 & 2022.
  5. The National SMART Implementation Protocol (NASIP) 2020 was reviewed with integration of the Functional Divisions, UWICER, and BTC model and FNCRR Amended 2021 and 2022 along with data sharing modality.
